I’m excited to be at HRC Foundation’s Time To Thrive Conference in Washington, D.C., the annual national conference to promote safety, inclusion and well-being for LGBTQ youth...everywhere! Time to Thrive is presented by The Human Rights Campaign Foundation in partnership with the National Education Association and the American Counseling Association.

I will be presenting a workshop titled “Faith, Hope & Love: Building Safer & More Welcoming Faith Communities for LGBTQ+ Youth” with Rev. Lee Zandstra and Rebekah Bruesehoff about the transformational work we’re been doing in the New Jersey Synod of the ELCA with our annual event Faith, Hope & Love, and then equipping participants to take this model and use it in their settings.

A Conversation About Welcome: LGBTQ People & the Church

  • Holy Counselor Lutheran Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Jamie Bruesehoff and Rev. Christopher Bruesehoff will be hosting this workshop.

Last winter, Holy Counselor Lutheran Church gathered to talk about transgender children and the church. The folks gathered asked for this as a follow up to that conversation.

This is an opportunity for the HCLC community and their neighbors to learn about what it means to be welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community.

All are welcome! Facebook RSVP is welcome but not required.
